FRIDAY JUNE 22

• Check into ALLENDALE SLEEP INN & SUITES- 4869 Becker Drive, Allendale, MI 49401  phone (616) 892-8000. Thirty rooms are reserved at a special $64.99 rate. Ten of the rooms at this rate are two bedroom suites.  The cutoff date for reservations is May 25. The hotel is 6 miles from the Andersons'.
• Check into ALLENDALE/ W GRAND RAPIDS KOA- 8275 Warner Street, Allendale, MI 49401  phone (616) 895-6601 Reservations (800) 562-9751  Mention that you are with the GLR Hosta Society and qualify for at least a 10% camping discount.  Information on campground:  www.koa.com  or info@allendalekoa.com The campground (on the Grand River) is 5 miles from the Andersons'.
• Noon  or later.  Meet at the Andersons'- 10338 Rich Street, West Olive, MI 49401 phone (616) 895-4455  email : kayhosta@gmail.com.  You may tour Kay's gardens, take a swim or just chat with friends.  Bring a lawn chair.  Tents for shade, grills and picnic tables will be provided.
• Noon-2:30  Plant sale- trade.  Each attendee may bring plants to sell or trade and can set their own prices.  The attendee will donate 20% of sales to GLR Hosta Society to defray costs of hosting TAILGATE 2012.
• 3:30-5:00  Tour Walters' Gardens-  1992 96th Ave. Zeeland, MI.   One of the largest U.S.  wholesale perennial plant growers. 
• Stop in at Garden Crossings - 4902 96th Ave. Zeeland, MI.   On your way back to the Andersons' you will pass Garden Crossings Garden Center (Rated #1 U.S.  mail order nursery on Dave's Garden Web) You may pre-order at www.Garden Crossings.com/ garden center. Type in the code HOSTA and a 20% discount will be given on your pre-order.
• 6pm-til Gather at the Andersons' for tailgate party.  Grills and tables will be provided.  Bring  your own lawn chairs and perhaps snacks and beverages of choice for later in the evening.  If you play a musical instrument, perhaps think about bringing it and performing.
• 7:30 Plant Auction.  Please bring at least one plant to donate.  The event is free, but there are costs involved for printing, water, table coverings, signs and porta potties. Any excess monies will be donated to next years' pig roast in Indiana who will host Tailgate 2013.

SATURDAY JUNE 23

• 9:00- 5:00  Tour West Michigan Hosta Gardens :

• 9:00-5:00 or later  Shop Ottawa-Kent Perennials (wholesale prices),  K Gardens (West Michigan's largest selection of hostas) or any of the many local garden centers (lists will be provided at the Andersons')

SUNDAY JUNE 24   On your own

• Tour the hosta gardens of Kalamazoo.
• Visit  Meijer Gardens,  John Ball Park Zoo, The Art Institute of GR  or any of museums of Grand Rapids.
• Spend the day at Lake Michigan.  Kirk Park is just 12 miles west of the Andersons'.  Grand Haven State Park and Holland State Park are just a few miles further.
• On your way home plan a stop at Hidden Lake Gardens,  probably the finest hosta display garden in the U.S.
