Many dismiss boxwood as being "to formal" or "to much maintenance" for their gardens. But actually boxwood can be used informally and be "no maintenance" plants if used properly. There are hundreds of varieties of boxwood. Some are very small and slow growing, some have naturally columner or pyramidal growth habits while others grow quite large. There are variegated boxwood, yellow leaved varieties and some with blue new growth.
