Details: This session will be a discussion of things that work for me in my hosta garden. The material accumulated is from 16 years of growing hosta and also being in the business of selling hosta. I will discuss hoses, markers, insurance, photography and another hundred or so things that work for me. I talk fast so be prepared with a pencil and pad to make a lot of notes. Class ID: 5014 Title: Rare and Unusual Plants for the Garden, and Where to Find Them
Details: In this course, I will explain why some plants are hard to obtain as well as give tips on how to discover new and uncommon varieties for your garden. This class includes a PowerPoint with photos of some of the rare plants in my own personal garden.

Bio: I am from Grand Rapids, Michigan where I live on a four-acre site in the country. As an avid gardener, I have always had an interest in finding and collecting rare and unusual plants. My garden is well-known for the many large boulders (I am also a rockhound) and is home of hosta 'Rhino Hide' (Rawson 2007).
